We Gave It Radials, A Quieter Ride, Guard Beams And A Nose Job
Like every new generation of Corvettes, this one has its own distinct appeal.
But it also has some very distinct advantages.
Standard GR70-15 steel-belted radial ply tires, for example. And interior compartment sound levels that have been reduced by 40%. Plus the security of steel guard beams in the doors.
But what everybody notices first id the aerodynamic front end that’s formed to follow a variety of functions. First of all, it protects. The body-color front bumper is stronger. It’s specially mounted and has an outer cover made of injection-molded urethane to resist dents and prevent rust.
The new domed hood is special, too. Its air-induction design improves high output engine operation.
The swooping shape of the front end even takes care of covering the headlights and the windshield wipers.
Because with a car like the ’73 Vette. It’s hard to say where function ends and where form begins.
And that’s precisely the beauty of it all.
