They’ve been strangely silent lately.

Maybe that’s because Corvette has a whole lot to say for itself.  It comes with the kind of design features you know hoe to use to demonstrate traffic safety.  Things like IRS so surefooted and sophisticated it makes the suspension on some of those $14,000 imports seem behind the times.  Big disc brakes all around.  Fully synchronized four-speed box if you’d rather stir your gears by hand.  ( a fully synchronized three-speed is standard with the 300 horsepower engine.)  V8’s you can order with up to 427 cubic inches and 425 horsepower.  And lines that mate functions to form.  Maybe that’s the reason for all the silence.  Or maybe a little bird told those purists something about fiber glass sports cars with automatic transmissions.
