The bow tie logo was inspired in a Paris hotel in 1908 when William Durant, the founder of GM visited the place and saw the wallpaper pattern. January 9, 1953, the name “CORVETTE” was first used by GM in stylized script with all letters joined. 300 1953 model Corvettes have been built by the end of the year.
